KEEPING IT REAL
Howard Dean wants you to know that he's no longer just mentally unhinged. He also now has balls the size of Alpha Centuari. Having dropped 44 points in three weeks in New Hampshire following his "I Have a Scream" speech in Iowa (which oddly enough was given on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) and having lost by 14 points to Dorian Gray, Dean did what all psychotic losers do. No he didn't murder his wife's family and take the kids on a police chase...yet. He got rid of his campaign manager.
Campaign manager Joe Trippi has resigned following his attempted demotion to chief strategist. Trippi is widely renowned in professional political circles for elevating Dean from an obscure former governor of a state where no one lives to a nationally known bellowing lunatic who knows the names of at least 18 states. Dean, who spent 48 million dollars to lose New Hampshire by 14 points - a state that doesn't have 14 residents when the press isn't there - had a difference of stratgey with Trippi. There are 7 primaries next Tuesday, most of them in southern states. The south is not a promising territory for a guy who once changed his religion over a bike path. Trippi argued that the campaign should concentrate on states like Michigan, Washington and Wisconsin, big states with lots of delegates that hold their primaries on February 7. Dean prefers being humilated like a fat kid on his first visit to a dominatrix and lose massively in every state he knows the name of. So Trippi went bye-bye.
Dean, who has campaigned with great vigour against "Washington insiders and special interests", has announced that Trippi has been replaced by Roy Neel, Al Gore's former chief of staff and past president of the U.S Telecom Association, a powerful Washington lobby.
