STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES
If anybody was still wondering why Al Gore lost the 2000 campaign, here's a pretty good indication. As all of my readers north of the Mason/Dixon line and east of the Mississippi know, its 583 degrees below zero outside. So what does the Phantom of the fucking White House do? He marches up to New York and insists on telling everyone that its cold because of global warming.
Now granted, I'm not Mr. Wizard. The current inclement weather may or may not be caused by global warming. Given the title global warming, I wouldn't think so but science was never my strong suit. On the other hand, politics is. And one of the cardinal rules of professional politics is "don't say anythng, true or not, that makes you look like a moron." This would decidedly include talking about how something called "warming" is a bad thing on the coldest fucking day of the year!
Al Gore is a celebrated "enviornmental expert", though. All the rabid lefties who know about such things will tell you so. He even wrote a book about it called "Earth in the Balance." Those of you who are unaware of the book really shouldn't be blamed as Gore never mentioned the book when he was running for president. This might strike you as odd, never having used his area of exprtise to his political benefit. Gore is a very modest man. He would never do something as brazen, as say....I don't know....claim to have invented the Internet.
Gore's silence on things environmental during the campaign probably had a lot do with the patently ridiculous overstatements in his book. Al Gore actually wrote, on paper no less, that "the internal combustion engine is the greatest threat to the continued survival of mankind." Really? More so than nuclear weapons? So that's why NATO encircled the Soviet Union with old Pintos for 50 years. Statements like that have a very nasty way of smeaking up and kicking you in the balls during a campaign. Ask Howard Dean, he's learning all about that lately.
The funniest part is that Al Gore still thinks he's going to president. It would be adorable if it wasn't so sad.
