GOOD WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT
This is a very interesting theory.
I might comment on it later.
Or not.
OKAY, YOU TWISTED MY ARM
What does Hillary bring to the table? She can swing a few very important states that were close in 2000. Everybody remember how close that was? Good. Well, you probably don't. Everybody remembers the couple of hundred votes in Florida. This map doesn't help in people's memories...
But this is much more instructive. Bush won Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio and West Virginia by very narrow margins, in some cases within the margin of error in most polls. In a close race, these states - and particularly Ohio, if that state is as close as it was last time - could very easily tip the balance. Bush won 271 electoral votes last time out and won every former Confederate state. Lets assume that he win all 11 of those states again. He could still lose. If he just loses Ohio, he loses big. If he loses all of the 5 states I noted above, the colors on the map don't look very different, but it's an ass kicking in the electoral collage.
Hillary as V.P could swing the margin in Ohio, Missouri and New Hampshire. Very easily. A Kerry/Clinton ticket wouldn't have to win a single southern state to win. They'd have to sweep the table virtually everywhere else but stranger things have happened.
Do I think that any of the above will happen? I kind of doubt it, but who knows?
