"ASK NOT WHAT THE COLOMBO FAMILY CAN DO FOR YOU...."
Say what you will about the Kerry/Edwards ticket. You can say that they're populist heroes determined to save the nation from its darker impulses. You could even say they're pretenders, perpertratating a fraud on the American people in the name of guys who have done nothing since 1970 and hick shysters.
But never let it be said that they don't have an offer you can't refuse.
Turns out that Kerry/Edwards are mobbed up.
How fucking cool is that? I'm actually serious. I thought there was nothing even approaching cool about that campaign, other than that they abdandoned Clinton's Fleetwood Mac strategy. But to think that the campaign is being bankrolled by Ray Liotta's character in Goodfellas is just thrilling.
The only way this campaign could get better is if Bush/Cheney '04 are owned by the Gambinos.
That would make the debates REALLY funny to watch. Cheney could start the VP debate with, "Tonight, John Edwards, you sleep with the fishes." then Edwards leans over and kisses Cheney on one cheek.
It'd be fucking perfect. Maybe Coppola could moderate.
